GameGal Gaming Lab Goes Plasma
It's like living inside a trade show booth.

We here at GameGal World Headquarters, located in lovely downtown Manhattan, have an exciting new upgrade to our in-house gaming lab to tell you about.

On Monday, April 12, 2004, the GameGal 42” plasma screen went online. It took a few more days to get it wall-mounted, but even sitting in its table stand on the floor, an initial test game of Ninja Gaiden left everyone stunned.

With the simultaneous addition of 5.1 surround sound and our own custom-made HTPC (home theater PC), it’s unclear if we’ll ever get any work done from now on. Good thing playing games is a big part our job.

“You haven’t seen Charmed until you’ve seen it on a 42” plasma display,” says GameGal Editor Libe Goad. “And don’t get me started on The L Word.”

Dan Ackerman, GameGal’s co-founder, says, “Each year I’d go to E3, and see everyone playing games on these big 42-inch screens. After three days it became almost normal, and I had a hard time going back home my standard 32-inch CRT.”

Dan predicts Libe will be come accustomed to the plasma display within a week, and thereafter find standard televisions to be unwatchable. Libe predicts Dan will soon want to upgrade to a 50” plasma, which she says, “ain’t gonna happen.”
